Son Montuno is an Afro – Cuban song, dance and rhythm style dating back to the 1940’s. As an offshoot of Son- Cubano it is a more complex musical form. This collection presents the Son Montuno (with Mambo cowbell) orchestrated for the contemporary drumkit with variations for the bass drum and hihat.
